Here’s a little house right down the street from where I grew up. I’ve seen inhabitants come and go throughout the years, no one ever staying long. For the past decade, it’s sat vacant in the middle of a cornfield, rotting into oblivion.
If this place survives the winter, I will be shocked. The air inside…unbreathable. Animal poop, dust, and so much black mold. In the kitchen, I was shocked to find a filthy litter box. The ammonia burned my eyes, and I couldn’t stay in the room more than a minute. All in all, I wasn’t in here long. Half hour, maybe? But I got a few shots I’m happy with regardless.
These photographs are amazing, such interesting angles too and great details.
I’ve never visited an abandoned house, still I have visited other abandoned scenes and it has always been very “eye opening” to me.
Thanks so much for the kind feedback. They are very eye-opening, aren’t they? Every abandonment is such a unique experience. Story-tellers in their own right.
No problem, and they really are.
Awesome: yet again!! Beautifully captured imagery! You’re very lucky to be close to such buildings that, as you say, have a lot of history and many stories behind them!
Thanks! I have been fortunate to gain access to some really great spots. It’s such a unique, personal way to explore history.
Epic photography! But sounds like your senses were definitely maxed out at this photo shoot! (i.e. odors etc)
