The House in the Marsh

I was on my way home from an amazing wedding, and I saw this decrepit house rotting in a swamp. I dunno man, when the mood strikes, it strikes.

Finding a very convenient pull-off, I took inventory of what I had in my bag that wasn’t semi-formal wedding attire. Jeans, an old Misfits t-shirt, and the hoodie my OCD won’t let me go into any abandoned building without. (I’m not kidding. I lost it earlier this year, and thinking I’d left it in a hospital in Massachusetts, didn’t go exploring again until it turned up weeks later in my sister’s laundry.) Good enough.

Anyway, there wasn’t much inside but a beautiful old piano and some law books scattered on the floor. But it was fun.

  1. Lucky you – great little find – yeah, houses are very different…some work, other don’t – I have my “lucky” Urbex T-shirt that I always wear, so I understand about the hoodie. very nice post here.

    • Thanks Robert. The piano was a great find, caught me totally off-guard since the rest of the place was empty/collapsing. The element of (pleasant) surprise is always a great feeling on an explore.

I would agree with Robert – a great little find
